Christine Hörmann

Christine Hörmann (* 1959 ) is a German jazz musician ( baritone saxophone , flute , clarinet ).

Hörmann studied music at the University of Göttingen and the University of Oldenburg . Until 1990 she was a member of the jazz orchestra Reichlich Female ; She was also involved in theater and musical productions such as Starlight Express , Grease , Saturday Night Fever , Cats and Cabaret . She was a member of the United Women's Orchestra and the salsa band Jazminas and forms the doubleXX saxophone quartet with Angelika Niescier , Caroline Thon and Christina Fuchs . Between 1987 and 2002 she was involved in five albums in the field of jazz. She belongs to the Kokopelli Saxophone Quartet , which became a finalist in the European SaxContest of the Yamaha company in 2003. With this quartet she also recorded the albums Come Away , Conversation Amusante and Gershwin & Bernstein .

Hörmann is a lecturer for saxophone, flute and clarinet at the music school of the city of Lüdenscheid .
