Christine Magnuson (born October 17, 1985 in Tinley Park ) is an American swimmer who is particularly successful on the butterfly courses.

Christine Magnuson is studying movement science at the University of Tennessee , where she is trained by Matt Kredich. She lives in Tinley Park and starts for the team at her university. Magnuson made her breakthrough in swimming late in 2007, when she was third in the US championship over 100 m butterfly. At the US Trials in 2008 , she was eighth in the 50 m freestyle and won the 100 m butterfly. So she qualified on the butterfly route for the Olympic Games in Beijing . On August 11th Magnuson won the silver medal there behind the Australian Lisbeth Trickett .
