Christine Rost

Christine Rost (* 1958 in Halle an der Saale ) is a German doctor , specialist in psychotherapeutic medicine , specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, and author .

Life

Christine Rost's parents fled with her to Hesse before the Wall was built in 1961 . She grew up in Babenhausen in the Rhine-Main area . She completed her medical studies from 1978 to 1984 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Career

Christine Rost received her doctorate in 1984 under Inge Scharrer with a thesis on "Investigations into tissue-bound fibrinolysis in benign and malignant breast tissue".

From 1985 to 1990 she completed her specialist training in gynecology and obstetrics at the Darmstadt City Clinics.

She made her first experiences with traumatized patients while working at the psychosomatic rehabilitation clinic Clemens-August-Klinik in Neuenkirchen iO, where she completed additional training in psychotherapy. From 1992 to 1993 she completed an EMDR training and has been a certified EMDR trainer since 2003.

From 1994 to 1996 Christine Rost was at the Hohe Mark Clinic in Oberursel / Ts. worked there and together with Arne Hofmann set up the first psychotherapy unit for women with a focus on the treatment of trauma-related disorders and severe dissociative disorders . In 1997 she completed further training as a specialist in psychotherapeutic medicine with specialist knowledge in psychotherapy based on depth psychology.

Rost is co-founder of the training institute "Center for Psychotraumatology" in Frankfurt am Main, which has existed since 1997. She is also a co-founder and long-term board member of the German section of the International Society for the Study of Dissociation (ISSD), as well as the EMDR-Fachgesellschaft EMDRIA Deutschland e. V. , of which she was Vice President until 2005.

Christine Rost has her own practice in Frankfurt am Main. She is the author and editor of specialist books, articles and book chapters on psychotraumatology and EMDR, conducts seminars throughout Germany and internationally and gives lectures.
