Christine Schachenmann

Christine Schachenmann (* 1940 in Zurich ) is a Swiss painter .

Life

Schachenmann grew up in Schaffhausen . After studying architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich , she spent a year in the USA . She has a degree as a teacher. Between 1960–62 she had painting lessons with Walter Jonas (painter, thinker, urbanist). She worked on the Intrapolis project . In 1963/64 she taught in Switzerland . Schachenmann graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg from 1965-66 . From 1966–69 she was in W. Hutter's master class at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna . Schachenmann married K. Kandler in 1971 and settled in Vienna. Three years later, in 1974, their daughter Isabelle was born.
