Christof Florus

Christof Florus (born September 11, 1956 in Baden-Baden ) is a German local politician (independent) and has been Lord Mayor of Gaggenau since 2007 .

Florus grew up in Gaggenau. He attended the Hans-Thoma-Grundschule and the Goethe-Gymnasium as well as the Technical Gymnasium Rastatt. After graduating from high school , Florus studied electrical engineering with a focus on medical technology at the TH Karlsruhe and received the academic degree of Diplom-Ingenieur . He worked for Dekra in the Stuttgart district of Vaihingen for the next five years . There he was department head of the test center for device safety as well as quality officer and certifier. He also acted in an advisory capacity for the board of directors.

After the birth of his second child in the second half of the 1990s, Florus became the manager of his wife's shoe store. She took over the business in downtown Gaggenau from her parents a few years ago. In the first six months as managing director, Florus also worked as a consultant for Dekra.

In March 2007 he was elected Lord Mayor of Gaggenau. Florus is married and has two children, a son and a daughter.
