Christof Hasler the Elder J. was two-time mayor of Bolzano in the second half of the 15th century . He acted as the highest municipal official in 1453 and again in 1469 and was the fifth in the row of city leaders first attested in 1449 with Hans Trott.

Hasler was the son of the Bolzano notary, Christof Haslers the Elder. Ä., In turn son of the notary Johannes Hasler. Christof Hasler the Elder belonged to the city ​​notary and parish priest of the Marienpfarrkirche . J. joined the dignitaries of late medieval urban society and, thanks to his numerous offices and functions, commanded considerable “ knowledge of rulership ”. In the years 1453–1460 he put on a comprehensive land register and legal book for the Marienpfarrkirche , which has been kept at the Bibliothèque nationale et universitaire de Strasbourg since the late 19th century . It is also significant because, in addition to the inventory of the city's main church, the oldest school regulations in the city from 1424, a copy of King Friedrich III's council privilege . from 1442 as well as other normative sources. As early as 1460, Hasler is proven to own a house, an unmistakable social mark of distinction and a prerequisite for obtaining citizenship .

The oldest recorded Bolzano council protocol from 1469 also comes from Hasler's hand. It was part of the Oberpayrsberg archive before it was lost during the war years.

In 1470, Hasler and his brother Hans were enfeoffed by Duke Sigmund of Austria-Tyrol with the Niederhaus residence in Bozen's Raingasse .
