Christof Krause (born January 19, 1928 in Gohlitz ( Golice in Polish ) near Frankfurt (Oder) , † January 27, 2005 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a sculptor from Bad Homburg vor der Höhe - Ober-Eschbach .

Life

In 1933 the von Gohlitz family moved to Frankfurt (Oder). From 1938 to 1941 she lived in Berlin-Charlottenburg . Krause met the painter Fidus from his grandparents . In 1942 he attended the Bad Warmbrunn wood carving school in Lower Silesia. In 1945 he fled to Hesse. From 1947 Krause studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main . From 1951 to 1954 he is an apprentice as a model carpenter. From 1954 he works in his own workshop in Bad Homburg-Ober-Eschbach. Works are created for the Protestant church in Ober-Eschbach, the Catholic student residence in Frankfurt am Main, the church in Mengerskirchen and the Catholic church in Gonzenheim. In 1966 the “Krake” gallery is opened in Frankfurt am Main. In 1975 he is part of the Frankfurt Artists Syndicate; Neu-Anspach residential and work yard . From 1978 he has his workshop in Ober-Eschbach. The Bad Homburg fountain, the Ober-Eschbach unicorn fountain, the Ober-Erlenbach fountain, the memorial plaque (Landauer - Frankfurt), the memorial for the destroyed synagogue in Frankfurt am Main-Rödelheim and numerous small sculptures are created. Krause starts a family after 1978. From November 26th to 28th, 2004, the last workshop exhibition will take place together with Christa Krause in Bad Homburg-Ober-Eschbach.
