Christof Müller (* 1961 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German fundamental theologian .

Life

He studied theology, philosophy and German in Frankfurt am Main , Giessen and Würzburg . In 1992 he received his doctorate from the University of Giessen . After completing his habilitation in Würzburg as Dr. theol. habil. (Fundamental Theology and Comparative Religious Studies) through the eschatology of the Second Vatican Council , he was appointed private lecturer at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg for the field of Fundamental Theology and Comparative Religious Studies. He was appointed adjunct professor of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg as part of a research professorship at the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz . He is the scientific director of the Center for Augustine Research at the University of Würzburg.

He has been working as a research assistant to Cornelius Petrus Mayer since the mid-1980s , when he was Professor of Systematic Theology in Giessen. In 1996 he worked on the first publication of the Corpus Augustinianum Gissense a Cornelio Mayer editum (CAG), which has since been developed into an online source under his direction. Since 2010 he has been responsible for the project planning of the Augustinus Lexicon , succeeding Cornelius Mayer , where he has been co-editor since 2002. On March 9, 2014, he took over the management of the entire ZAF from Prof. Mayer.
