Christof Müller-Wirth

Christof Müller-Wirth (born December 22, 1930 in Berlin ) is a German publisher and journalist in Karlsruhe and a great-great-grandson of the pre - March politician Johann Georg August Wirth .

Live and act

After the start of the war, Christof Müller-Wirth lived in Hinterzarten in the Black Forest from 1941 . There he was a student at the Birklehof School from 1941 until his Abitur in 1949 . After graduating from high school, he completed an apprenticeship as a printer in Stuttgart from 1950 to 1952 .

He began his studies in 1952 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and completed it in 1954 as a "Bachelor of Arts". From 1954 to 1958 he studied economics at the University of Heidelberg. In 1958 he received his doctorate on the subject of "The economic situation of the publishing house as a company". In 1959 he joined CF Müller Großdruckerei und Verlag GmbH in Karlsruhe and became a managing partner.

He has been a member of the SPD since 1968 . Later he was chairman of the Badischer Kunstverein and the Association of Publishers and Bookstores in Baden-Württemberg eV From 1982 to 1994, he succeeded Alex Möller as chairman of the board of trustees of the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation . From 1994 to 2004 he was the honorary managing director of the association he founded, a memorial for the freedom movements in German history eV in Rastatt.
