Christoph Bechmann

Christoph Bechmann (born November 23, 1971 in Speyer ) is a former German national hockey player who won bronze at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , as well as the 2006 world championship.

Career

Christoph Bechmann, nicknamed "Duffi" or "Bechi", was the captain of the German national team. In 2006 he ended his career in the national team after appearing 300 times for Germany and scoring 179 goals.

In 2006 he became assistant trainer at the Club an der Alster. On August 1, 2006, he switched to Rot-Weiss Cologne as a trainer . In the 2011/12 season, Bechmann returned to Hamburg and became assistant trainer under Christian “Büdi” Blunck at Harvestehuder THC (HTHC). From the 2012/13 season he trained the team as head coach together with assistant coach Stephan Platz. With the men of the HTHC he became German indoor hockey champion in spring 2013. In 2014 he won the European Cup of National Champions in Hall with the HTHC, the European Cup of National Champions on the Field (EHL) and was German field hockey champion. In the spring of 2015 he was again German champion in indoor hockey.
