Christoph Friedrich Freudenreich (born November 8, 1748 in Bern ; † February 8, 1821 there ) was a Swiss politician in the canton of Bern .

Freudenreich traveled to England and Scotland and studied at the University of St Andrews . On his departure, the city granted him honorary citizenship and the university the title of Doctor iuris honoris causa . On his return trip to Bern he spent some time at the French court in Fontainebleau. In 1776 he married Elisabeth Tscharner, daughter of Niklaus Emanuel Tscharner and Elisabeth Tscharner. In 1785 he became a member of the Grand Council and was the last governor on the Thorberg from 1795 to 1798 . In 1803 he was again a Grand Councilor and the first Bernese envoy to the Diet in Freiburg. From 1807 to 13 he served as mayor and from 1814 again as councilor and president of the court of appeal.
