Emanuel Friedrich von Fischer
Emanuel Friedrich von Fischer (born September 19, 1786 in Bern ; † January 13, 1870 ibid) was a Swiss politician in the canton of Bern .
Life
After studying classical philology and mathematics at the Geneva Academy and the Bern Academy , he was secretary of the Bern Academy from 1805 to 1809. This was followed by a political career, the coronation of which he was elected the last ruling Bernese mayor during the period of restoration in 1827 . After the July Revolution of 1830 , in January 1831 in Bern he ensured the peaceful transition from the patriciate to the liberal constitutional state, but then voluntarily went into exile from 1833 to 1840. The deed of abdication of the aristocratic government was signed on October 20, 1831 as the last nominal mayor Niklaus Rudolf von Wattenwyl . From 1850 to 1854, Fischer was again a member of the cantonal parliament as a member of the Brienz parliament and supported Eduard Blösch's conservative government .
