Christoph Ludwig Kerner (born May 8, 1744 in Hechingen ; † August 11, 1799 in Maulbronn ) was the Württemberg governor and father of Justinus Kerner .

Christoph Ludwig Kerner was the son of the Hechingen regimental quartermaster Johann Georg Kerner, who later became the Oberamtmann of the Oberamt Ludwigsburg and died in 1766. Christoph Ludwig followed his father at the age of 22 as senior bailiff in Ludwigsburg. His duties also included the lower judiciary, in connection with which he led the trial of the Grossbottwarer robber Johann David Linse in 1789 . In 1795, Kerner came to Maulbronn as a senior bailiff . He died there in 1799.

Kerner was married to Friederike Luise Stockmaier (1750-1817). The couple had four sons and two daughters. Among the children, the doctor and journalist Johann Georg Kerner (1770-1812), the Württemberg Minister of the Interior Karl von Kerner (1775-1840) and the doctor and poet Justinus Kerner (1786-1862) gained greater prominence. The daughter Wilhelmine (1782–1864) was the mother of Ferdinand Steinbeis .
