Christoph Soldan (born August 25, 1964 in Frankfurt / Main ) is a German pianist and conductor .

Life

Christoph Soldan's musical talent was noticed at the age of 5. After initial instructions from his father, he received piano lessons, later organ lessons as well as instructions in harmony and composition. After taking part in various youth music competitions on both instruments and making his first public appearances, he began studying piano with the piano teacher Eliza Hansen , which he graduated from the Hamburg University of Music. Christoph Eschenbach , who taught him, had a great influence . By jumping in at short notice, he took part in a tour with Leonard Bernstein to London and Moscow in 1989.

In 1994 he moved to the Hohenloher Land and founded a chamber music festival there . Since 1996 he has played Mozart's piano concertos on CD with the Slovak Chamber Orchestra Cappella Istropolitana and the Silesian Chamber Philharmonic . In 1998 he appeared in Salzburg and gave concerts in the Berlin Philharmonic , in 1999 in the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and in 2001 at the Prague Spring . He went on concert tours to Mexico and Japan. since 2000 he can be seen at reading concerts together with Peter Härtling. Since 2007 he has also worked as a conductor. In 2001 he married the dancer and choreographer Stefanie Goes, with whom he developed joint stage pieces for dance and piano. In 2007 he founded his own theater in Dörzbach an der Jagst . He is the artistic director of various concert series within Germany, for example the “ Schubertiade Schloss Eyb” in Dörzbach (Hohenlohe) and the “Master Concerts in Bacharach”.

Soldan's repertoire ranges from the baroque to the modern. There are also solo recordings with works by Berg, Ravel, Schumann, Chopin, Schubert and Beethoven.
