Christophe Bertschy (born October 1970 in Pompaples ) is a Swiss comic artist and illustrator .

life and work

Bertschy was born in Pompaples in French-speaking Switzerland in October 1970 and first worked as a graphic designer for Philipp Morris . After winning the “Nouveaux Talents” competition at the Festival de Sierre in 1999, he dedicates himself exclusively to drawing. First works appeared in the magazine Tchô! In quick succession he developed the series Jimmy Brocoli and Smax . For the latter, he first worked with vector drawings . In 2001, the French-language Swiss tabloid Le Matin published his comic strip series Nelson about an orange devil. This series has been published in Spirou magazine and in album form by Éditions Dupuis since 2004 . The MiniPeople comic strip about prominent personalities from Switzerland has been appearing on social media since 2011. According to the website MiniPeople.ch, the number of views on Facebook is one million per month.

Bertschy provided the illustrations for the French-German picture book La rivière de Julien - Lilly and the river from 2013. A French-Italian version called La rivière de Julien - Lilly e il fiume was published in 2017.
