Christophe Gardié (born November 21, 1964 in Arras ) is a former French football goalkeeper and current coach .

Career

Gardié was trained at RC Lens and came as a talent in the first team that played in the first division . Because Gaëtan Huard, two years older than him, was a particularly strong competitor in goal, Gardié was hardly used. In his first season with the professionals, he came on two missions. He benefited from an injury from Huard the following season and was used 14 times, but did not come to a single use in the third season. After Huard left the club in 1988, Gardié competed with Christophe Baïocco for the position of regular keeper, with Baïocco ultimately came on more missions. After relegation in 1989, Gardié was sorted out at Lens and moved to the second division team EA Guingamp , where he replaced the departure Jean-Claude Nadon . In 1990 he found a new employer in the first division club FC Sochaux . In the first season, the club was only able to keep in the first division due to the forced relegation of three competitors. The following year, Gardié was ousted by Stéphane Ferrand in goal. Therefore, he went to the second division club CS Louhans-Cuiseaux in 1992 , which he left a year later after relegation to the third division . He signed with third division FC Canet Perpignan , with whom he rose to the second division in 1994. In 1996 he moved to the second division club Stade Laval to replace Lionel Perez . In 2002 he ended his career at the age of almost 38 after it was made clear to him that the club wanted to rely on younger players. After the end of his active career, he worked for various clubs as a goalkeeping coach. From 2004 to 2005 he was also assistant coach at Stade Laval and from 2006 to 2008 coached the second team of his youth club RC Lens.
