Christoph Heinrich von Kursell der Spandauer (born November 29, 1722 , † December 5, 1795 in Hapsal ) was Herr auf Ocht, a Prussian lieutenant and a Russian lieutenant general .

Life

Christoph Heinrich von Kursell was wealthy on Ocht in Estonia . He came from the German-Baltic Kursell family . His parents were Christopher Engelbrecht von Kursell (1685–1756) and Gertrude Helene von Tiesenhausen († 1742). On March 12, 1764, Anna Lunetta von Essen († 1772) married in Reval .

First he was in the service of Frederick II of Prussia as a guard ensign, then as a lieutenant, and as a Russian subject in 1749, at the beginning of the Seven Years' War between Prussia and Russia, he sought a farewell , which he was not granted. He then deserted and was captured. He refused a pardon from Frederick II. After 13 years imprisonment in the Spandau fortress , he was exchanged for other prisoners by Tsarina Katherina II in 1762 . In 1763 he was made a colonel , in 1770 a general of the Imperial Russian Army and dismissed as lieutenant general.
