Christopher Razis alternatively also known under the name Christophoros Razis ( Greek Χριστόφορος Ραζής ), (born July 7, 1989 in Switzerland ), is a Cypriot - German basketball player . He is currently under contract with SC Rasta Vechta .

career

Razis was born in Switzerland to a German mother from Swabia and a father from Cyprus . In the 2008/09 season he made his debut in the first Cypriot league at Keravnos Strovolou and also played with the club at European level in the continental club competition EuroChallenge . From November 2010 to the end of the 2010/11 season he ran for another first division club in Cyprus, ENAD Ayiou Dometiou .

In 2011, Razis moved to his mother's home country, he played for the Bundesliga club EWE Baskets Oldenburg , but remained a supplementary player there and completed 19 Bundesliga appearances with an average playing time of 3:22 minutes per game during the 2011/12 season. He returned to Cyprus before joining the Greek second division club OFI Crete . After the end of the 2013/14 season, he was named the best newcomer in the second-highest division in Greece (awarded by the internet service eurobasket.com ).

In January 2015 he left Greece for Thuringia and moved to the Oettinger Rockets in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . In the 2015/16 season in particular, he shaped the work of the “rockets” as a playmaker and gave an average of 4.3 basket assists per game - that was the team's best. In addition, Razis scored 5.2 points per game with an average playing time of around 23 minutes per game (37 games in total).

In the 2016/17 season he was part of the squad of the Greek first division club Rethymno CRETAN KINGS and was a supplementary player there. In June 2017 he was announced as a new addition by SC Rasta Vechta (ProA). Razis won the 2nd Bundesliga ProA championship with Lower Saxony in May 2018. During the season it was used in 36 games and contributed averages of 2.9 points and 2.3 assists.

National team

Razis was a Cypriot U16 national player and was appointed to the senior national team for the first time in 2008.
