Christ Church (Ellingen)
The Christ Church is a Protestant church in Ellingen in the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The listed central building has the address Im Stadtgarten 13.
The church is located in the city garden of Ellingen, the former courtyard garden of the Teutonic Order . The kitchen garden was completely walled and originated in the 16th century. When the city of Ellingen bought the Hofgarten, the complex was renamed Stadtgarten.
The church was built in 1925 according to the plans of the architect German Bestelmeyer . During the construction of the church, however, the steeple collapsed . The consecration took place on 29 November 1925. In 1935, the church received a Steinmeyer - organ . In 1975 the crucifix from 1952 was redrafted. The gallery runs around the interior, the altar and the pulpit are set up separately.
The octagonal church building has a gable roof . The church tower to the east is crowned by an onion dome.
