February 2nd Sanctions Europe The European Union (EU) extended its sanctions for the second time. By then, 91 individuals and 13 Ivorian companies had been affected. These are said to have " hindered the peace and reconciliation process in Ivory Coast ". These included Marcel Gossio , director of the port of Abidjan, Kassoum Fadika , director of the state oil company Petroci and Laurent Otto Zirignon , chairman of the state oil refining company Société Ivoirienne de Raffinage (SIR).
February 2nd U.N. Ukraine At a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych announced the transfer of Ukrainian UN soldiers from Liberia to Ivory Coast , referring to the UN Security Council resolution 1967 of January 19.

14th of February Finances The Ivory Coast International Bank of Industry and Commerce (Bicici), part of the BNP Paribas Group , and Citibank are closing their branches in Ivory Coast.

February 16 Security Council The United Nations Security Council decided with resolution 1967 to increase the UN troops of the Opération des Nations Unies en Côte d'Ivoire (ONUCI). Three infantry companies were transferred from the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) to Ivory Coast for three months . In addition, two transport and three armed helicopters were sent.

February 17th Finances The Standard Chartered Bank and Société Générale (SGBCI) closed their branches. The SGBCI was the largest bank in the country. The Abidjan Stock Exchange closed its doors on the same day.

February 22 Struggles Abobo / Abidjan Fighting took place between Laurent Gbagbo's units and unidentified gunmen.

February 24th Threats Abobo / Abidjan Edouard Kassaraté , the head of the Ivorian gendarmerie and supporter of Gbagbo, said that his troops would cleanse Abobo of rebels.
February 24th U.N. ONUCI warned of a complete collapse of the peace process and the possibility of fighting across the country.
February 24th Struggles Armistice Line For the first time in six years, fighting between government troops and the Forces Nouvelles (FN) took place on the ceasefire line . According to the rebels, 80 people were killed in the towns of Zouan-Hounien and Danané .

February 25 Struggles Abobo / Abidjan Thousands of people fled the district. They reported heavy fighting and bodies lying on the streets.
February 25 Struggles Yamoussoukro Fighting broke out in the capital of Ivory Coast as well. Yamoussoukro is south of the armistice line. Gbagbo units reported nightly shelling and hours of shooting. In the days before, the FN in Korhogo called out the " March on Yamoussoukro ". According to information from church circles, the FN rebels were on the advance in the area.
February 25 Travel warning Switzerland The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) advised Swiss citizens to leave the Ivory Coast.
February 28 Sanctions Belarus Belarus delivered three attack helicopters with accessories to Gbagbo's troops. Ban Ki Moon called on the UN Security Council to sanction this breach of the 2004 arms embargo.
