Chucho Merchan
Chucho Merchan (born December 24, 1952 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian bassist and guitarist in rock and fusion music .
Live and act
Merchan has worked in Colombian salsa, latin and rock bands since 1968. He moved to the United States in 1970 to study and make music. Between 1974 and 1979 he continued his studies in England and graduated from Cambridge . Then he moved to London , where he played with Nucleus until 1982 and founded his own band "Macondo". He has also played with Mose Allison , Gordon Beck , John Taylor , Julian Bahula , Working Week and Hank Crawford . As a studio musician he worked for the Eurythmics and The Pretenders. He was also involved in projects by Annie Lennox , Pete Townshend , David Gilmour , Bryan Adams , George Harrison or Robert Wyatt ( Shleep , Comicopera ) and produced his own albums.
