The Chumig prayer meeting or Chumig Chökhor ( Tib. Chu mig chos' khor ) was a Buddhist council held in the Fire Cattle Year (1277) by Phagpa after his return to Sakya in the monastery of Chumig Ringmo ( chu mig ring mo ) in the west of Samzhubzê in Tsang ( gtsang ) near the Narthang monastery . About seventy thousand monks took part.

Religious tensions over the Drigung Kagyu school tradition of Tibetan Buddhism continued after the gathering.

Quote

“In Chumig Ringmo Monastery in Tsang, he [Phagpa] gathered around seventy thousand monks and offered them countless amounts of gold, tea, and silk clothes. ( Thuken Lobsang Chökyi Nyima : Crystal mirror of the philosophical teaching systems ) "
