Ciara Michel (born July 2, 1985 in Taunton ) is a British volleyball player .

Career

Michel is the daughter of an American basketball player and a British woman of Irish descent. At school, she initially wanted to be a cheerleader , but then decided to play volleyball. In Florida she played on a team with her sister. From 2003 she studied psychology at the University of Miami and played in the Hurricanes team there. In 2007 she went to Australia to the University of Melbourne . In the meantime, the middle blocker, who has British and US citizenship as well as Australian citizenship, was active for half a year at Monash University in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton . Since she wanted to recommend herself to a European club for the British national team in view of the upcoming Olympic tournament in London in 2012 , Michel switched to German Bundesliga club Alemannia Aachen in 2010 . In May 2011 she made her national team debut in Lima . At the 2012 Olympic Games in her own country, she finished ninth. Then she moved to VT Aurubis Hamburg . In 2013 she went to Italy to join Yamamay Busto Arsizio .
