As a child, Ciccone originally wanted to become a professional footballer, but he rejected the idea. At the age of 15 he began an apprenticeship as a commercial clerk , where he first met people from the Swiss hip-hop scene, such as Spooman and Lou Geniuz . After completing his apprenticeship, Cigi moved to Winterthur for professional reasons . In 1994 he produced his first rap tracks with Spooman and Inspirin (AOH - Family) . Three years later he founded the rap crew Moshiba with Lou Geniuz, Tolis, Gina E, D Breez, Masta T and Jon . The group won the competition at the music fair in Lucerne .

In the same year Lou Geniuz produced his first solo album, on which Cigi had a guest appearance under the name G Blu . In September 2000, Ciccone released his first solo album Mondo Blu . For the AOH Family, Cigi had partly written his lyrics in Swiss German, but all the songs on the album were rapped in Italian. The following year, the second work Figlio del Sud appeared , on which Cigi received strong support from Lou Geniuz, who recorded all the songs, among other things. After the third album Resisto in 2004, Cigi founded the band Straight Outta Mama , with whom he released the album Un giorno della vita di . The group is always present at Ciccone's live performances and consists of drummer Thierry Schenk, keyboardist Michael Gertschen, Gian Lorenz on electric bass, and Lou Geniuz and Nyna Cantiene as backing vocalists.

In 2006 Cigi joined the hip-hop group Oschtblock Kuabuaba (OBK), which includes Lou Geniuz , Gimma and Ali de Bengali. On Gimma's album Panzer, Cigi rapped a verse of the song Jeda Tag . In early 2008, the OBK album America is Back and the accompanying single Feria appeared in Guantanamo . In July, Cigi and Lou Geniuz released the song L'estata che balla together , which was played almost daily on DRS 3 throughout late summer and was made available for download on the Internet.

Cigi also had a guest post on Gimma's 2009 album Hippie . He was represented on the piece I liaba mina Job together with Lou Geniuz .

Styles of music

After only doing hip-hop at the beginning of his career, Cigi began to use other musical styles such as salsa , Latin jazz , R&B , reggae and soul at the latest from his fourth solo album Un Giorno della Vita di . Tongue-twisting rapeseed is typical of Cigi. The salsa and pop-like beats are mostly produced by Lou Geniuz.
