Cinquecento (art and literature)

The Cinquecento ([ tʃinkweˈtʃɛnto ], Italian for "five hundred" as an abbreviation for 1500) is the traditional name of the 16th century in Italian cultural history . In art history, the term describes the styles that developed during this period.

The artists and writers of the 16th century are called Cinquecentists in German. Included among the visual arts as Donato Bramante , Michelangelo , Raphael , Correggio , Titian , Benvenuto Cellini and poetry Francesco Berni , Ludovico Ariosto , Torquato Tasso , Bernardo Tasso , Machiavelli and others.
