Russula subsect. Citrinae is a sub-section from the genus of russulas ( Russula ) provided within the section Russula stands.

features

The subsection contains pigeons with yellow, yellowish to orange colored and sometimes greenish lemon yellow, but never pure red colored hats. The hat skin usually shines, but at least it is never dull. The spore powder is whitish to cream-colored. The cap skin contains pileocystids , which can be stained with sulfovanillin, but does not contain any acid-fast incrustations or membrane pigments. All types taste hot.

The type species is the pale yellow blubber ( Russula raoultii )

Systematics

At Romagnesi and Bon the subsection Citrinae is below the section Russula ; at Singer it is of the same rank as the Russula subsection . In Sanari the missing taxon . The species are here within the Artopurpurinae series , which, together with the Russula series, is below the Russula subsection .

The pale yellow deafblings share a number of characteristics with the Emetica group: its white spore powder, the same smell, the pungent taste and a similar mycorrhizal anatonmia. Only his pale yellow hat color speaks against a classification in this group. However, one should bear in mind that species such as the birch and the beech pebble fade and then also have yellowish tones. Some r-DNA data also suggest a close relationship with the Emetica group. It would therefore make sense to move it to the Emeticinae subsection . R-DNA examinations also show that the sun deaf and the pale yellow deaf are not closely related. The sun-blubber seems to be more related to species from the Tenellae section . An argument against a closer relationship between the two pigeons is that, besides the yellow spore powder, they also have a different mycorrhizal anatomy.
