The CityCarree Salzgitter is a shopping center in the Lebenstedt district of the independent city of Salzgitter . The centrally located shopping center opened on June 12, 2008.

The shopping center was built from 2006 to 2008 on the site of the former Apollo Center. Extension work was necessary for this, which resulted in a redesign of the roadway on Albert-Schweitzer-Strasse and Willy-Brandt-Strasse , which cost EUR 2.08 million .
Initially, the CityCarree housed 25 shops. Currently (as of August 2013) there are still 22 stores available. Among other things, the second largest retail space in the shopping center, on which the electronics discounter ProMarkt was located, had been vacant since mid-2012 . A branch of the Media Markt was opened here in March 2016 . One of the five main offices of Volksbank Braunschweig Wolfsburg has been based in the CityCarree since 2008 .
Volksbank BraWo has been the owner of the CityCarree since 2020 . In the course of this, a renaming to “BraWo Carree Shoppingcenter” is planned.
Located in the northern district of Lebenstedt, the shopping center has a size that is more common for smaller medium-sized cities. Since Salzgitter does not have a historically grown city center, the CityCarre's supply area typically includes the northern districts of Salzgitter with around 50,000 residents.
In Salzgitter-Bad , the Altstadt-Carrée is a somewhat smaller shopping center.
Transport links
The CityCarree Salzgitter is located in the center of Lebenstedt and is only separated from the pedestrian zone in the city center by a main street. The shopping center has parking spaces that can be reached via Willy-Brandt-Straße. The bus connection is guaranteed by the KVG Braunschweig via the bus stops train station and ZOB / Albert-Schweitzer-Straße . The train terminus at Salzgitter Lebenstedt is located near the CityCarree.
