Career

Born in Senegal, the defender completed his entire career in France, where he was under contract with the second division FC Toulouse from 1945 and took part in the reopening of regular game operations after the Second World War . In 1946 he made the move to Stade Rennes in the top French league. At a time when substitutions and substitutions were not yet possible, he had a slim chance of a place in the first team behind players like Henri Guérin and André Bordier ; accordingly, he had to wait until October 13, 1946 to debut in a 6-0 defeat against FC Metz in the first class. During the 1947/48 season he gained importance in the team and started the following season with regular assignments.

In the autumn of 1948, the professional turned his back on Rennes and returned to the second division, where he found work at SCO Angers . There he became a regular player, but at the same time had to fight relegation. After three seasons relegation battle, Pordié moved in 1951 to league rivals AS Monaco , with whom he played for promotion. Nevertheless, he turned his back on the club a year later; for the 1952/53 season it was again a second-rate club with AS Troyes-Savinienne , which secured the services of the defender. He was one of the performers of a team that rose to the first division in 1954. After a first division year that brought Troyes relegation, the then 30-year-old Pordié ended his professional career in 1955 after 52 first division games with one goal and a long second division career. He then worked as player-coach for an amateur club from Cugnaux in the south of France ; because of this, a stadium in the place is named in honor of the ex-professional who died in 1995.
