Claire de Brunner

Claire de Brunner (also Claire deBrunner , * around 1960) is an American jazz and improvisation musician ( bassoon , composition ).

Live and act

Claire de Brunner learned the bassoon at the age of 14. She completed a classical education and soon after received a scholarship to study at the Dalcroze School of Music. She continued her studies at the High School of Music and Art, the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Manhattan School of Music , where she studied with Stephen Maxym. She also played in various orchestras and chamber ensembles. In the 1980s she turned to the avant-garde and downtown scene in New York and was a founding member of the formation 101 Crustaceans , which was in the New York post-punk tradition; Another band was Church of Betty , with which the first recordings were made. In the early 1990s she studied jazz improvisation with Lee Konitz and Connie Crothers ; since then she has worked in the New York free jazz and avant scene a. a. with Daniel Carter , Connie Crothers, Matt Lavelle ( Solidarity , 2014), Ras Moshe , Ed Pastorini, François Grillot , Ratzo Harris and Blaise Siwula . Her main job is as an editor and proofreader in market research.
