Carol Liebowitz

Carol Liebowitz (* 1953 in New York City ) is an American jazz musician ( vocals , piano , composition ).

Carol Liebowitz received classical piano lessons from the age of nine and then attended the High School of Performing Arts in her hometown; then she studied at New York University . After graduating with a bachelor's degree, she took improvisation lessons with Connie Crothers and Jay Clayton . She also took lessons from Sal Mosca and Sheila Jordan . In the course of her career she has performed in Europe and in New York venues such as Roulette , The Stone, Cornelia Street Cafe , IBeam and Birdland . In 1994 she presented her debut album Waves of Blue Intensities (Orchard) with saxophonist Bob Field , followed by Time on My Hands (1998, with guitarist Andy Fite ) with standards from the Great American Songbook such as " I Can't Believe That You" re in Love with Me ”,“ It Could Happen to You ”and“ You Don't Know What Love Is ”. In the field of jazz, she was involved in ten recording sessions between 1994 and 2017. With saxophonist Birgitta Flick , a duo album was created in 2017 with joint compositions and the standard "You Don't Know What Love Is".
