IBeam Music Studio

The IBeam Music Studio (also known as I-Beam for short ) is a music venue in Brooklyn.

IBeam was founded in 2008 by Brian Drye as a New York musician-run rehearsal room and venue for jazz, experimental and improvised music. It is located in Brooklyn's Gowanus neighborhood (168 7th Street). There were u. a. Recordings of performances by Nate Wooley , Peter Evans and Travis Laplante . In January 2015 the New York Tenor Saxophone Festival , curated by JazzRightNow.com, took place there , with performances a. a. by Mike Pride , Ingrid Laubrock , Nate Wooley, Tony Malaby , Ken Filiano , Reggie Nicholson and Anna Webber . The IBeam is part of what the New York Times said was a growing group of musician-owned Brooklyn venues in the 2010s, such as the nearby ShapeShifter Lab and Douglass Street Music Collective .
