Relative pitch records

Relative Pitch Records is an American music label.

The independent label Relative Pitch Records , based in New York City, was founded in 2011 by Mike Panico and Kevin Reilly. So far, recordings by musicians from the fields of avant-garde jazz , free jazz , and new improvisational music have appeared on the label ; first release was the album That Overt Desire Of Object by Joëlle Léandre and Phillip Greenlief . Other musicians on the label include Greg Cohen , Joey Baron , Matthew Shipp , Vinny Golia , Taylor Ho Bynum , Evan Parker ,Mary Halvorson , Jessica Pavone , Ingrid Laubrock , Catherine Sikora , Sylvie Courvoisier , Christian Lillinger , Tomeka Reid , Alexander von Schlippenbach and Nate Wooley . So far (as of 2018) around 65 albums have been released on the label. Mike Panico died in early October 2018 at the age of 53; according to official information one assumes suicide .
