Clara Lüken

Clara Lüken (born October 10, 1871 in Oldenburg (Oldb) ; † November 27, 1946 in Heiligenkirchen ) was a German student councilor and member of the Lippe state parliament (DVP).

Life

Clara Lüken was one of five children of the doctor Bernhard Adolf Lüken and his wife Maria Carolin geb. Boecking. Lüken studied in Göttingen and then worked as a senior teacher in Heiligenkirchen. From 1906 to 1921 she was the director of the teachers' seminar in Detmold, which had been founded the year before, and then she worked at the Lippisches teachers seminar.

On November 30, 1918, the provisional Lippe Revolutionary government abolished the old three-class suffrage and resolved the active and passive right to vote for all citizens from the age of 20. As the first female MPs in 1919 was Auguste Bracht in Lippi's parliament elected on November 29 In 1920, Clara Lüken for the late Adolf Meier . In the first electoral period, Lüken belonged to the Lippischer Wahlverband, from 1921 to 1928 she belonged to the parliamentary group of the DVP . Then she left the state parliament.

In 1933, the National Socialists pushed her to retire.
