Clara Law
Clara Law ( Chinese 羅卓瑤 / 罗卓瑶 , Pinyin Luó Zhuóyáo , Jyutping lo 4 coek 3 jiu 4 , born May 29, 1957 in Macau ) is a director , producer and writer from Hong Kong .
Life
Clara Law moved to Australia in 1997 when the People's Republic of China took control of Hong Kong and the associated establishment of a special administrative zone. Influenced by this social background, she made various films in the previous years that deal with migration and the identity crisis of the residents of Hong Kong. Her works Farewell China (1990) and Autumn Moon (1992) are particularly noteworthy .
After moving, she successfully continued her film career in Australia and has since made several films there, including Floating Life (1996) and The Goddess of 1967 (2000), both of which have won numerous awards in Australia and at various film festivals around the world were awarded. At present it last film is Like a Dream from 2009 and is about a young American-born Chinese who travels to China, in order to find his imaginary love, and the science fiction - Short Red Earth (2010).
