Clarence Pope

Clarence Cullam Pope (born October 26, 1929 in Shreveport , Louisiana , † January 8, 2012 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana) was an Anglican Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America .

Life

Clarence Pope was established in June 1954 to the deacon ordained and received in May 1955, the priestly ordination . He was the rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge. He was elected Bishop of Fort Worth on September 14, 1984 and ordained bishop in 1985 by John Maury Allin , Stanley Hamilton Atkins and James Barrow Brown . In 1994 he resigned from office and announced his transfer to the Roman Catholic Church ; a short time later in 1995 it was revoked.

On August 6, 2007, he and his wife finally joined the Roman Catholic Church .

He had been married since October 1, 1957 and had two children.
