Clark Thomas "Shorty" Templeman (born August 12, 1919 in Pueblo , † August 24, 1962 in Marion ) was an American racing driver .

Career

Templeman contested 42 races for the AAA National Series and the USAC Championship in his career . He also competed four times in the Indianapolis 500 . His best placement was second places in the races in DuQuoin and Syracuse in 1961. With 4th place, he achieved his best result in 1961 in Indianapolis.

Templeman secured five Washington State Midget titles, three times he triumphed in Oregon. As the first driver in the Midget series, he was the overall winner of the USAC National Midget Series for the third time in a row in 1958.

Since the 500 miles from Indianapolis were part of the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960, Templeman's statistics also include three races. He couldn't score any points.

Templeman died in 1962 of serious injuries sustained in an accident at the Midget race in Marion.
