Claudia Draxl

Claudia Draxl , also Claudia Ambrosch-Draxl , (* 1959 in Villach ) is an Austrian physicist. She is a full professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin at the chair for theoretical solid state physics .

Life

From 1978 to 1983 Draxl studied mathematics and physics at the University of Graz . In 1987 she received her doctorate in theoretical physics from the University of Graz. In 1996 she completed her habilitation at the University of Graz. In 1996 she became a lecturer and from 1997 an associate professor at the University of Graz. From 1999 to 2001 she was director of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Graz and then deputy director until 2004. In 2005, she accepted a professorship at the Montan University Leoben and held the chair for atomistic modeling and design of materials. Since 2011 she has been a university professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin and holds the chair for Theoretical Physics of Compressed Matter.
