Claudia Loebbecke

Claudia Loebbecke (born November 30, 1964 in Düsseldorf ) is a German economist. Since January 2000 she has been director of the seminar for general business administration, media and technology management at the University of Cologne .

Life and education

Her academic training after her Abitur in June 1983 at the Goethe-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf includes her degrees in business administration in 1990 and her doctorate in 1995 ( evolution of innovative IT infrastructures: dynamic simulation of the German mobile communications market) at the WiSo faculty of the University of Cologne and her MBA from Indiana University , Bloomington, Indiana, USA (1991) - the latter supported by a Fulbright scholarship (1986/87) and a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (1990/91).

During her external doctoral studies at the University of Cologne, she took various shorter teaching and research stays, especially in the academic year 1994/95 as a visiting research associate in the field of information management and information technology at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology . After completing her doctorate, she worked as a research assistant at INSEAD in Fontainebleau near Paris for two years .

Career

Since 2012 Loebbecke has been a member of the foundation board of the Leibniz Information Center for Economics - German Central Library for Economic Sciences, since 2015 a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Scientific Institute for Infrastructure and Communication Services (WIK), since 2016 a member of the Scientific Working Group for Regulatory Affairs (WAR) of the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) ) and elected deputy Member of the WDR Broadcasting Council, elected member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2018, and member of the supervisory board of WIK (Scientific Institute for Infrastructure and Communication Services) and WIK Consult, a 100% subsidiary of WIK, since 2018.

From 2013-2016 she was' Board Member 'and' Division Head 'of the' European Academy of Sciences' (EURASC), in 2015 Founding Scientific Director of the Grimme Research College at the University of Cologne and 2011-2013 member of the 'High Level Group ( HLG) on Innovation Policy Management to the European Council '. From 2005-2006 she was elected president of the worldwide Association for Information Systems (AIS) and was made an AIS Fellow in 2012.

Claudia Loebbecke is also a member of the Honorary Board of the Journal of Strategic Information Systems (JSIS), the Advisory Boards of Information Systems Research (ISR) and the Journal of Information Technology (JIT) as well as several editorial boards. From 1997 to 2015 she was Senior Editor of international high-ranking IS journals - seven years of the ISJ and twelve years of the JSIS.

In January 2000 she accepted a position at the University of Cologne. From 1998 to the end of 1999 she held the first chair for European electronic commerce (KRAK Chair) at the 'Copenhagen Business School'. Further stations in her professional career were the Erasmus University (Rotterdam), McKinsey & Co. (Düsseldorf), INSEAD (Fontainebleau) and the BIFOA at the University of Cologne. She also spent several months research at the Sloan School (CISR) at MIT (USA), INSEAD (Fontainebleau), Bentley University (USA), the London School of Economics, LUISS University (Rome), and Paris-Dauphine University , the University of New South Wales (Sydney) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Teaching

She has a permanent position at the Rotterdam School of Management of the Erasmus University Rotterdam (September 1997 to August 1998), on the Chair of Electronic Commerce at the Copenhagen Business School (1998 to 2000), and at the University of Cologne (since 2000) taught. Numerous engagements in academic teaching and executive training complement her teaching activities.
