Claudia Verdicchio-Krause

Claudia Verdicchio-Krause (born May 24, 1975 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German sportswoman and national coach of the DSB youth team.

Athletic career

She started shooting at the age of 13. In 1994 she took part in a European championship for the first time and took seventh place with the sport pistol. Fourth place followed in 1995, and sixth in 1997.

In 2003 Verdicchio won together with Munkhbayar Dorjsuren and Stefanie Thurmann the team title with the sport pistol at the European Championships in Mushrooms. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she competed in two competitions. As 23rd with the sport pistol and 16th with the air pistol, she did not qualify for a final. In 2005, Dorjsuren, Thurmann and Verdicchio-Krause were again European team champions with the sport pistol. In 2006 the same team won bronze at the World Championships in Zagreb. In 2007 Verdicchio-Krause became European champion in the individual ranking with the air pistol in Deauville . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , she achieved 10th place with the air pistol , making her the best German athlete in this discipline. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , she competed in the air pistol and sport pistol disciplines. She finished 20th and 26th respectively. Her last international competition was at the European Air Pressure Championships in Odense, Denmark, where she won the bronze medal in the team championship together with Sandra Hornung and Munkhbayar Dorjsuren .

Verdicchio-Krause starts in the Bundesliga air pistol for SSG Dynamit Fürth.
