Munkhbayar Dorjsuren ( Mongolian Доржсүрэнгийн Мөнхбаяр , Dordschsürengiin Mönchbajar ; born July 9, 1969 in Ulaanbaatar , Mongolia ) is a German-Mongolian sports shooter.

Life

Dorjsuren shoots with the air pistol and the sport pistol. In the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , she won for Mongolia behind Marina Logvinenko and Li Duihong the bronze medal with the pistol and took for Mongolia also at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in part. After the summer games in Australia she came to Germany because she saw no future prospects in her country. The games in Sydney ended with disastrous results for them. In 2002 she became a German citizen, in 2005 she became a soldier in the Bundeswehr .

She took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens for the German team . In the competition with the air pistol, she was sixth. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, Munkhbayar Dorjsuren won the bronze medal with the sport pistol and thus won the first medal for German female pistol shooters in Olympic history.

Dorjsuren has a daughter and lives in Munich .

In May 2008, Dorjsuren received the Silver Laurel Leaf for the second time in Berlin .
