Claudio Urru

Claudio Urru (born December 14, 1971 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German chef .

Career

After his training (1989–1992) at the Hotel am Schinderbuckel in Filderstadt , Urru worked until 1994 in Vincent Klink's restaurant Wielandshöhe in Stuttgart as a commis de cuisine . From 1994 to 1995 he cooked as demichef de partie at Martin Öxle's restaurant Speisemeisterei in Hohenheim Castle . In 1995, Urru went to the top air restaurant at Stuttgart Airport, which was awarded a star by the Michelin Guide . From 2002 to 2012 he was head chef and managing director there. From November 2013 he worked in the Montafoner Stuben restaurant in the Hotel Löwen in Schruns .

In September 2014 Urru switched to the Ars Vivendi restaurant in the Jagdhotel Glashütte in Bad Laasphe , which was then awarded a star in the Michelin Guide in the same year. From 2015 to July 2018 Urru was head chef and gastronomic director at Restaurant 5 in Stuttgart. Urru has been the culinary managing director of the Grüner Wald restaurant in Hamberg (Neuhausen) since 2018 .

Awards

In January 2006 he was named “Chef of the Month” by Der Feinschmecker magazine . Under his leadership, Restaurant 5 was awarded one star in the Michelin Guide .

Publications

In 2005/2006 Urru published his cookbook “Die 12 Gänge” and at the end of 2007 his book “Kulinarische Entdeckungsreise”, a travel book with recipes from all over the world, was published.
