Claudius Weber (born April 15, 1978 in Opole , Poland ) is a former German football player .

Career

Weber's professional career began relatively late. After commuting between three amateur clubs from Central Hesse in the 1990s, including the former league club VfB Gießen , Weber moved to the Mainz 05 reserve in 2001 after the league team of VfB withdrew, with whom he rose from the league to the regional league in 2003 . At the age of 25, the striker made his debut on October 30, 2003 in the 2nd Bundesliga , where he scored two goals in ten games (including nine substitutions). In 2004 he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the FSV and completed eight Bundesliga games for 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the 2004/05 season , where he was substituted on seven times. He scored his only first division goal in the away game against FC Bayern Munich .

In 2005 Weber moved to the regional division SV Wehen . After a temporary return to Mainz, he moved to VfB Lübeck in 2006 . Weber was even able to distinguish himself as a goalkeeper there: When in a home game against 1.FC Magdeburg, which was lost 1-0, the transfer contingent was exhausted and goalkeeper Achim Hollerieth was injured, he had to guard the goal for the last 20 minutes ( without conceding a goal).

In 2008 Weber ended his professional career and moved to the new season in the Hessian group league Gießen / Marburg to VfB Gießen , with whom he made promotion to the Association League Hessen . In Giessen he was top scorer twice in a row of the respective seasons (2008/09 in the group league 30 goals and 2009/10 association league 26 goals) in a total of 62 games. In 2010 Weber moved to the Oberliga Hessen for Eintracht Wetzlar , where he scored twelve goals in 19 games until the winter break. In January Weber moved to the league competitor in Stadtallendorf . By the end of the season he scored a further eleven goals in 15 games. In 2012 Weber moved to the previous year’s champion of the association league center and league promoted FSV Braunfels . In the summer of 2014 he signed the upper division SG Birklar . There he also took over the coaching position in December 2014. Since July 2016 Weber has been active as a player consultant at the “Team Eleven” agency, which he founded himself.
