Claus Alboth

Claus Alboth (born December 28, 1964 in Berlin ) is a German chef .

Career

After his training at the "Steigenberger Hotel" in Berlin, Alboth went to "Rockendorf's Restaurant" in 1986 and to "Restaurant Harlekin" in the "Grand Hotel Esplanade" in Berlin in 1987. After working on two cruise liners in 1988 and 1989, he switched to the "Steigenberger Hotel Maximilian" in Bad Griesbach im Rottal in 1991 as sous- chef . In 1992 he settled in Erfurt . First he was head chef in the "Hotel Erfurter Hof " and from 1994 in the "Hotel Domizil" in Apfelstädt .

From 1997 he cooked in "Alboth's Restaurant im Kaisersaal" in Erfurt , where in 2002 he also became kitchen director. In 2011 he was named "Newcomer of the Year" in Gault Millau . In February 2013 Alboth went to Weimar and became managing director of the "Hotel Dorotheenhof Weimar". From May 2013 to February 2016 he continued "Alboth's Restaurant" there.

In 2016 he closed the restaurant and withdrew from the gourmet kitchen. The cooking school "Kitchen Workshop in Dorotheenhof" was continued by him.

In 2019 he founded his company Alboth's KochWelt , based in Elxleben near Erfurt. The offer includes cooking courses, rental chef and advice.
