Claus Grzeskowiak (born December 30, 1973 in Hanover ) is a German football player .

Career

The 1.90 m tall midfielder played a total of 60 games for Hannover 96 and Eintracht Trier in the 2nd Bundesliga between 1996 and 2004 . After he collided with Cottbus' Michael Thurk in the match between Trier and Energie Cottbus (2-0) on October 31, 2004 and two of Thurk's teeth were bored into Grzeskowiak's knee and got stuck, the latter had to undergo several operations and because of one Knee joint infection ended his career for the time being. In December 2008, Grzeskowiak continued his career and signed with the Luxembourg first division club CS Fola Esch .

After leaving Fola Esch, he played for VfR Germania Ochtersum, SV Bavenstedt, Sportfreunde Ricklingen, SC Empelde and SV Damla Genc until 2016.

Grzeskowiak now lives in Hildesheim .

Due to the injury sustained in the game against Cottbus, a lawsuit by the former soccer player is currently pending against the doctor treating him at the time, with which he is asserting loss of earnings and compensation for pain and suffering totaling 1.33 million euros. After his complaint was not upheld in the previous instances at the Trier Regional Court and the Koblenz Higher Regional Court , it is currently at the Federal Court of Justice .
