Claus Krieger

Claus Krieger (born November 22, 1971 in Mutlangen ) is a German sports educator and university professor.

Life

Krieger went to school in Schwäbisch Gmünd . After passing his Abitur in 1991, he started a teaching degree in sports and English the following year at the University of Konstanz . In 1998 he passed the first state examination. Between 1995 and 1996 he was studying at Brock University in the Canadian province of Ontario . Between 1998 and 2002, Krieger was a research assistant in the field of sports science at the University of Konstanz. In 2003 he obtained his doctorate, the title of his dissertation was “We / I and the others. Comparative constructions of group identity in physical education. A qualitative study from a student's point of view. ”After completing his legal clerkship at the Geschwister-Scholl-Schule in Konstanz , he started a position as a research assistant at the Institute for Sports Science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and worked in this position until 2007 .

In 2007 and 2008, Krieger held a substitute professorship at the Department of Education at the University of Hamburg , and in 2008 and 2009 he was again employed as a research assistant at the University of Kiel. In October 2009, Krieger took up a professorship for educational science at the University of Hamburg with a focus on education and instruction in movement, games and sports.

The main focus of Krieger's research activities includes physical education from the perspective of students and teachers, the development of school sports, education and educational communication, and the subject of media in sports and physical education.
