Claus Scholl

Claus Scholl (born August 12, 1945 in Kirchen ; † March 6, 2015 in Aachen ) was a German legal scholar and was professor of private law at the Technical University of Chemnitz from 1995 to September 2010 .

Life

Claus Scholl grew up in Daaden . From 1965 to 1971 he studied law and economics at the University of Bonn. He passed his first state examination in law in 1969. In 1971 he obtained his degree in economics. In the same year he received his doctorate at the University of Bonn in Günther Beitzke Dr. iur. In 1975 he passed the second state examination in law and was admitted to the bar. Studies of British law in London and Edinburgh followed in 1975 and 1976. In 1987 Scholl passed the auditor examination.

From 1976 to 1995 Scholl worked as a research assistant at the Faculty of Economics at RWTH Aachen University, where he taught law, economics and business administration. After reunification he took on teaching positions at various universities in the new federal states. In 1993 he ordered the TH Köthen for honorary professor .

After a substitute chair at the University of Paderborn , Scholl held the chair for private law at the Technical University of Chemnitz from October 1995 , which he held until the 2010 summer semester. There he was also director of the Institute for Economics, Law and Technology. Claus Scholl's research areas included product liability, security technology, competition law, and banking and tax law. In Aachen he then worked as a lawyer and auditor until his death .

Claus Scholl found his final resting place in Aachen's Westfriedhof .
