Trident Lake |
The Clearwater River ( English for "clear water river") is a right tributary of the North Saskatchewan River in the Canadian province of Alberta .
Its source is in the Devon Lakes in the Canadian Rockies below Mount Wellington in Banff National Park . After flowing through Clearwater Lakes and Trident Lakes , the river leaves the mountains and maintains its direction of flow to the east. The Clearwater River turns north about 20 km south of Rocky Mountain House and finally reaches the North Saskatchewan River at Rocky Mountain House.
The Clearwater River has a length of 203 km. Its catchment area covers 3220 km². The mean discharge is 26 m³ / s.
