Cleave is an alternative rock band from Sankt Paul im Lavanttal in Austria .

history

The first two EPs ( Savoir Vivre and Mind Dysplasia ) and the first album ( Pluvious Tomorrows ) were recorded independently in the band's rehearsal room. The album was promoted with a tour of Austria, Spain and the east coast of the USA. During the US tour, the band was able to establish contact with the well-known producer Mark S. Berry ( Iggy Pop , David Bowie ), who was involved in the release in the USA. Pluvious Tomorrows was also released in the USA and has more experimental traits compared to its successor Evoke the Self .

Evoke the Self , which is more oriented towards traditional alternative rock structures, was released by the Austrian label Crater8Records and is distributed by Hoanzl . The two videos of the band to the singles ( Color Collision and The Sleep ) came on Gotv in rotation . The Sleep , the first single from Evoke the Self , hit Radio Soundportal in heavy rotation and climbed to the top of the station's charts. Furthermore, Cleave was named “Artist of the Week” and Evoke the Self was named “Album of the Week”. The tour for the second album took the band through Austria and Germany.
