The straight, radial symmetry flowers are 4 to 4.5 inches long and have a diameter of up to 7 millimeters. The flower tube is strawberry-red and covered with scales with some white hairs. The greenish to whitish green bracts are hardly spread out. The spherical, reddish magenta-colored fruits reach a diameter of up to 1.4 centimeters.
