Jürg Brändli

Jürg Brändli (born November 16, 1971 in Wald ) is a Swiss writer , screenwriter and journalist .

Life

His works include the Swiss films Nacht der Gaukler (1996) and Grounding - The Last Days of Swissair (2006), as well as the television film Spital in Angst (2001), directed by Michael Steiner. His television play Havarie (2006) was directed by Xavier Koller . Til Schweiger produced the movie On Heart and Kidneys (2001) . Brändli is the author of several radio plays for Swiss radio DRS . He has published short stories as well as the novels Phantomschmerz (2000), Der Aufstand (2007), Götterfunke - The story of a perpetrator (2013), Schwarzes Erbe (2016) and Der Sklave (2019), published by Münster Verlag Basel.

Before he became self-employed as an author in the mid-1990s, Brändli volunteered as a journalist at the Zürichsee-Zeitung in Stäfa ZH and was employed as the BR editor in charge of the “Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich” from 1992 to 1995.

Brändli lives and works in Wald in the Zurich Oberland.
